The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays are headed to the World Series. The NL West and AL East champions clinched their respective pennants and will now face off in the Fall Classic starting Friday night.
The Dodgers are heading back to the World Series for the second year in a row, looking to become the first back-to-back champion since the 1998-2000 Yankees. They completed their NLCS sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night and will have a week off before World Series Game 1. They are the first reigning champion to return to the World Series since the 2009 Phillies.
The Blue Jays, meanwhile, took a tougher route through the ALCS but came out victorious in Game 7 against the Seattle Mariners. This marks their first World Series appearance since 1993.
