Horror injuries of Lola Daviet, 12, ‘raped & strangled by female migrant’ revealed as court hears scale of girl’s terror

A TRAGIC 12-year-old “undoubtedly suffered” during a brutal assault that saw her “raped and strangled” by a female migrant, a court heard.

Algerian migrant Dahbia Benkired, now aged 27, is accused of murdering 12-year-old Lola Daviet in a case that shocked France three years ago.

A court has now been told the harrowing details of poor Lola’s horrific injuries, as the end of Benkired‘s trial draws near.

Young Lola was tortured by Bekired in a horrific ordeal after she was lured into an apartment in the 19th arrondissement of Paris by the migrant.

Furious that the schoolgirls mother hadn’t given her a building key, Benkired allegedly forced the 12-year-old to undress, wash and perform a sex act before launching a violent attack on the youngster.

Lola was reportedly slashed with a box cutter and scissors before being bound in duct tape and left to die from asphyxiation.

Today in court a forensic pathologist said: “Asphyxia is very anxiety-inducing – not being able to get oxygen is a significant and intense source of anxiety.”

Lawyers for Lola’s mum also asked the pathologist whether Lola would have suffered at the end, saying they had been “plagued by the question”.

The expert replied: “Not being able to get oxygen is a significant and intense source of anxiety. She undoubtedly suffered.”

The courtroom was also shown a picture of Lola’s corpse, with 39 wounds on it, many left the room, but not Lola’s mum.

Benkired was, meanwhile, seen staring at the screen without showing any emotion.

The image was shown on a screen, and prompted many to leave the court, but her immediate family members remained.

Prosecutors said Lola was “vaginally and anally penetrated” while she was still alive, adding that her head was partially severed.

Her body was then stuffed into a plastic trunk and dragged through the streets of Paris.

Benkired stopped at a café with the suitcase where she reportedly told a customer what she had done.

The customer is said to have grown suspicious that the migrant was “selling a kidney.”

The young girl’s body was later discovered by a homeless man after it was dumped in the city.

Disturbing images, shown to the court previously, depicted Lola’s bound arms, taped face, deep slashes and a partially severed neck, causing her family to leave the courtroom in tears.

Speaking at a previous court hearing, Lola’s mother Delphine demanded “justice.”

At the opening of the trial on Friday, Benkired apologised for her “horrible actions” after admitting raping, torturing and murdering Lola.

Benkired’s trial is expected to end on October 24, if found convicted, she faces life imprisonment for the rape and murder of a child “preceded by acts of torture and barbarity.”

Benkired arrived in France aged 14 and overstayed her student visa.

She was under an order to leave the country after failing to comply with an expulsion notice issued in August 2022.
